In a tragic incident in Bharatpur block number two of Murshidabad district, two individuals named Habib Shaikh (24) and Nekbos Shaikh (26) lost their lives due to a lightning strike while working in the fields on Thursday.
The incident also left three others, Helu Sheikh, Aminur Sheikh, and Heru Sheikh, seriously injured.
The injured were immediately taken to the first salar block primary health center in critical condition, where the doctors on duty provided first aid and declared two of them dead. The remaining three were shifted to Kandi Sub-Divisional Hospital for advanced treatment.
The news of the incident brought doctors and police officials from Salar police station to the health center, where they assisted in recovering the bodies of the deceased and sending them for post-mortem. The bodies were later transferred to the mortuary of Kandy Sub-division Hospital.
